Gothic Goli..& Smoky hours..

Found this stuff from the one of the old sketchbooks ..It's a tribute to a very bizarre alley in my hometown kolkata ,It is a tribute to an alley of metal-heads who are seriously concerned and working towards their brand of music through concerts and gigs and ensuring their group stays alive through their music .In the middle of this bustling city do not be shocked if u come across a bunch of characters who look straight out of the then stadium rock genres.

Smokey hours also is a dig from my old sketchbook,it's a conversation between three guys where one asks "What the time is?" while one of them replies "Don't know dude,i think it's 20 miutes past Holocaust and 15 minutes past the world shat on their pants."..it's a very nonsensical conversation  but the imagery kind of led me to give it a place in my blog.

Dip Backgrounds

Snapshots from my final film,the film is an episodic animation pilot and it's an extension of my comic book where it chronicles the life of Bhotbhoti Maiti and his many adventures ..

Flash Background

A background done for a short flash animation..This video was on the lines of recreating an award winnng animation short  by Eksaurus studios ,the original animation itself was brilliant and as a tribute to E.suresh we created this short as a part of our animation film festival Chitrakatha...

An illustration done on the theme for pollution for an Oxford University Press book,the image finally did not get selected..but i had fun deciphering the camera angles and including all the elements as the client had specified.

Satan Sanyal and 3D

Jack rabbit..

This is a profile page design for a kolkata based Jack Rabbit,technically these pages are seperate,i have managed to accumulate them into one spread for the viewer's advantage...

T-shirt Design

T-shirt designs done for our  intra college fest while the top one is done on the insistence of a friend..the dialouge is a comic take on a a famous dialouge from the film "Shubarnarekha",by ritwick Ghatak..

Hallucination of the Traveller..

Could not come up with anything to describe this actually,but acouple of random scribbles that i started to like a lot and it felt that there was a story behind it...Pen illustration with a touch of photoshop to come up with this
one.

Ghona da

This is an illustration of one of my favourite childhood characters "ghonada'..he's one of the dada's of the bong dada trilogy. Anyway ghonada specialized in an unprecedented art of story telling and betowed with limitless imagination. A know it all character and a modern storyteller..one of the apt influences that i carry forward..

Final Project Character

Character explorations and model sheets for my character in my final project ,he character is an autodriver and he was modelled on the real life sketch of this man named "bhola"...The character has an uncanny habit of shifting to an alternate reality in his auto rides which provides a whole lot of scope for adventures and misadventures respectively...
